Community Building Partners is excited to be partnered with seven Land Banks, Cities, and Nonprofit developers who have been awarded funding through the 2026 Welcome Home Ohio Grant Program from the Ohio Department of Development. These awards are the result of bold community vision and a commitment to expanding affordable homeownership for Ohio families.

CBP worked with local partners across the state to help secure a total of $ 4,808,000 for 48 Ohio families across those 7 communities. In total, the State is awarding 26.9 Million to organizations across Ohio

Through 2028, Community Building Partners will work hand-in-hand with these communities on the construction, qualification, and sale of new homes:

  • Columbus, Ohio — 6 homes in partnership with Dayspring Christian Community Development Corporation
  • Clyde, Ohio — 6 homes with the City of Clyde
  • Lake County — 9 homes with the Lake County Land Reutilization Corporation
  • Lorain County — 9 homes with the Lorain County Land Reutilization Corporation and Habitat for Humanity
  • Richland County — 6 homes with the Richland County Land Reutilization Corporation
  • Toledo, Ohio — 6 homes with the City of Toledo
  • Williams County — 6 homes with Neighborhood Housing Services of Toledo and the Williams County Port Authority

In these communities, the Welcome Home program provides grant funding to reduce the purchase price of new homes for income eligible home buyers. If you are  a prospective homebuyer in any of these areas,  sign up for email updates through the contact form at WelcomeHomeOH.com, to receive updates as the programs progress!

We were grateful to play a supporting role in the application process, helping each organization put their best foot forward,. Now, our team will work alongside our partners to implement this housing and advance their vision.

These awards are an expansion on CBP’s current Welcome Home work in Ohio communities.  CBP has supported partners in past year programs earn and implement their Welcome Home awards.

CBP helped the City of Sandusky complete their Welcome Home award throughout the past year. Now, funds are being reinvested to build even more homes – a testament to what strong local partnerships can achieve. In addition CBP currently has three homes under construction in Ashtabula, with an additional 6 set to break ground in Athens later this summer.

The Welcome Home Ohio Program, backed by Governor DeWine and administered by the Ohio Department of Development, is funding the expansion of affordable housing across the state. We are honored to partner with these seven communities as they rise to meet that opportunity. We’re excited to get to work!
