Our Community Building Partners have been working hard with our friends at the AAA in Mansfield, Ohio to codevelop housing for seniors. Using an innovative and sustainable model of collaboration and high quality modular construction, these 12 affordable units would reactivate vacant Land Bank-ed properties, while providing beautiful homes for seniors to age in place.
The development, called Ritter’s Run Senior Community, will include one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments on Ohio Street, nestled between Blymyer and Sturges avenues and near the OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital.
“They’re going to have front porches,” she added. “Why does that matter? We want to rebuild the neighborhood, we want to be a part of the community. What’s Mansfield have? We have front porches. That’s what we have and that’s the thing that ties the person to the neighborhood and we’re looking for that neighborhood feel.”
