The Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI) a nonprofit organization based out of Denver that has been conducting research and analysis to improve America’s energy practices for decades, featured our Impact Solar Program in a recent white paper  “Scaling Low Income Solar with the Inflation Reduction Act.”

In his white paper, Stephen Abbott is providing useful information on models like ours to interested tax-exempt entities, which might include community development financial institutions (CDFIs), green banks, electric cooperatives, 501(c)(3) organizations, etc.

While the Impact Solar program was created before the IRA, all of the ways in which the IRA turbocharges the clean energy industry, like incentive tax credits and direct pay elective, were quickly integrated into the program, which was highlighted in the “Early Adopters” section of the paper.

Our Community Renewable Energy team has worked for years with our partners at Clean Energy Ventures refining this model, and as our projects come on line, we are looking forward to seeing it replicated, scaled and iterated. So it’s an honor that RMI, and one of our funders, the Columbus Region Green Fund, would want to help us share this model with others!
