Welcome Home Great Lakes LLC successfully hosted its first open house on January 25, 2025, marking the official launch of the Welcome Home Sandusky project to the public. With nearly 40 interested homebuyers in attendance, the event was a tremendous success. It provided attendees with the opportunity to engage directly with WHGL partners and ask questions about the homebuying process.
The City of Sandusky presented a comprehensive overview of the program and its eligibility requirements. Community Building Partners elaborated on the construction process, highlighting their collaboration with Ohio-based company Unibilt in developing the modular homes. Representatives from Civista Bank guided potential homebuyers through the mortgage prequalification process, while NeighborWorks Toledo Region provided insight into the required one-year financial literacy training for new homeowners.
